Artist in residence
13- 20 December 2015
Enoch Cheng is an artist, director and writer. He received his MA in Creative Writing at Goldsmiths, London, and his BA in English Literature and Art History at The University of Hong Kong. His practice involves the moving image, theatre and performance.
He made his debut film, Queen's Encounter in 2011. The film looks at the everyday subtleties in contemporary urban lives through seemingly mundane conversations - themes that he explores through his later works.
Since Queen's Encounter, Cheng has produced a number of films (Before Friday, I Hope You Don't Mind, All this happened, more or less: Olympiades, Operation Pina4) and two plays (Fishy Stories, Destination) with the support of Hong Kong Arts Development Council and Art Basel Hong Kong. His works explore recurrent themes of place, travel, fiction, memory, time and destination which he will continue to explore through his residency at CFCCA.
Enoch will be holding an Open Studio when he returns to the residency in December 2015.
