Peggy & Karen Ngan: Breathe Residency
6 March – 6 May 2006
Peggy and Karen Ngan use the media of video and drawing to explore the dynamic and relationship between two artists who work collaboratively and independently. As identical twins, their video and drawings invite audiences and even themselves to investigate their shared or individual interpretation of memories through everyday life. For their Breathe residency they will document each other’s daily experiences as they interact with their surroundings in Manchester. Their experiences will determine and criticize our interpretations of shared memories.
With different mediums, the artists aim to invite audiences to question, perceive, and describe the relation between two pieces done by two artists, who work as a collaborative team and also, if known, as twin sisters, both visually and conceptually.
